Touch Screens Arived

Well the touch screen that I ordered from here arrived today. Great communications, packed well and it's up and running.

It did take a minute or two to get my head around it.

So This is what I did...

I discarded the Driver disk that came with the display ( no real good reason really)
As I'm running Vista 64 on the PC's I went to this site and downloaded the driver for the touch screens.

Once it was installed I followed these Instructions to get it configured and running.

Now that it's running you need to run touchbuddy, you can download it from the touch-buddy site. When you run touch-buddy,  select the monitor you want the software to display on, this is done from the window tab in touch buddy.

So That's it a screen like the cool one displayed below for my Simulator... Cool..

Sourcing Parts..

right So I made a decision based on the fact that the G25 shifter feels poor in H mode. That I would order an Lightning SST V2 H Shifter from simgear, and use the G25 for Sequential work.

I got a great reply to one of my posts on RaceSimCentral Forums from pgrande who pointed out I could use a 7" LCD touchscreen for a buttonbox to control the Sim.. Incidently what a cool rig he has!

Anyway take a look at This..

How cool is That!!

So I've ordered one of these LCD touch screens to use as a virtual buttonbox. and I've downloaded the Touch Buddy Software from touch buddy dot com

Hmm.. The cost of this is going up,  will it make me faster hahahahaha..

I'm also planning on using another USB TFT for a MOTEC style display but more on that latter.. got to go..

See ya on the grid

Roll On the New Year

Ever feel like your Wishing your life away...Well I just got confirmation that my visionracer will be in the first batch arriving..

I did think about building a race frame myself, but then this looks so good, theres a fair chance that the wife might even let me use it in public.. haha

Ohh and the dress code is optional..
Now when this arrives I intent to fit it with some form of enhancement in the form of a buttkicker or something similar. If you have any Suggestions post a comment please.

Also I saw this the other day and thought what if.. Well those anlauge clocks do work, they are an option if you dont want the small plasma display..

Perhaps something smaller might be better a side console, for a few switches, to house the PC and for a drinks holder, no Alcohol though  Mustn't drink and drive...

Well You've got to start Somewhere

Hi,

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday, I've got a cold right now so I'm going to keep this short :)

I've decided that after the last few years playing around with PC Simulators for flight, I'd have a go with the car side of things.

So stay tuned if you want to know how things go.

To Start with I have an old PC here the specs as Follows:

Q6600 @3.2Ghz overclock
4GB Ram
Vista 64
Creative Labs Aufigy 2ZS sound Card
500GB Sata Disk (robbed from an old USB disk!)
Asus 4870 512Mb Video Card (had a 3870 but it wouldnt hack it)

Anyway Stay Tuned as I report Progress.. on Building up my Sim Racing Rig.

Cheers
